Parents Association

All parents are invited and encouraged to join the Parents’ Association at New Gisborne Primary School. We meet one Friday every month in the staffroom to discuss fundraising ideas and upcoming events.

In the past years, our efforts have provided air conditioning for the new classrooms, books, sports uniforms, large chess pieces for the courtyard, PE equipment, a multi media centre and other things as requested by the teachers and students. Each year, we fund the prizes and graduation mugs for the Grade 6 graduation.

 Our meetings also provide a forum for the dissemination of information to and from the parent community with Mrs Sue Cook (our Principal) giving a report on current events and concerns within the school.

 We organize 2 discos a year for the children, Sausage Sizzles, Mothers’ Day, Fathers’ Day and Christmas stalls where the children can select their own gifts for family.

 Current and upcoming events or fundraising activities appear in the Parents’ Association section of the schools weekly newsletter which can be viewed at this web site. The date for the next Parents’ Association meeting is also regularly advertised in the schools weekly newsletter.

 New members are welcome and younger siblings of pupils at the school are also welcome at the meetings. So please come along and have a say.
