1:1 Technology for Students Program – iPads

Continuing the success of the New Gisborne Primary School 1:1 Technology for Students Program, we introduced the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) Program in 2016. Ipads were chosen for this Program as we have been able to trial and research their use in educational environments.

Ipads were found to provide a greater level of flexibility in enabling students to easily access a wide range of applications and online tools to help with their learning. This enhances the students’ ability to create, innovate, communicate and develop their 21st Century skills using a device that is portable and intuitive.

New Gisborne Primary School has selected the Apple iPad Air 2 as the most appropriate device for the school curriculum. The minimum requirement for the 2017 1:1 Program is iPad Air 2 with a minimum memory of 16Gb and Wifi only.

We have again entered into a partnership with Centrecom to assist in facilitating families purchasing their own device at a competitive price. Centrecom will provide families with a number of purchase options within our specifications requirements including: outright purchase of the device, a 3 month lay-by plan, a range of iPad accessories and insurance cover for the device.
